Privacy Notice

Notice: The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Organization Affairs, no longer requires the establishment of an account to use this site. All personally identifiable information (PII) previously collected from users of this system has been off-loaded for secure storage within the U.S. Department of State and is no longer available online.

Purpose: Per guidance from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), these records are deemed temporary federal records and the U.S. Department of State’s eRecords Disposition Schedule calls for their destruction 2 years after the selection certificate is closed or the final settlement of any associated litigation or investigation; whichever is later.

Authorities:

  • Pursuant to public law 89-467, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the sections created in 5 U.S.C. chapter 5, subchapter II §552, requests for information regarding these records may be satisfied for a period of two years, effective September 2, 2021, and ending September 1, 2023. Said release of information shall ensure the individuals right to privacy is protected.
  • In accordance with the United States Code of Federal Regulations, 5 CFR §335.103, Agency Promotion Plans, the records may be destroyed at the end of the two-year period, or after the program has been formally evaluated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), whichever comes first, if the time limit for grievance has lapsed before the anniversary date.
